Historical Commission

The next Historical Commission meeting is scheduled for:

Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at 7:00 p.m.

 

Recognizing the need to balance reasonable and inevitable growth with a proper respect for our historic heritage, the Concord Township Board of Supervisors enacted our township’s Historic Preservation Ordinance in October of 1997.  The ordinance includes a Historic Resources Inventory of properties built before 1900, and provides steps to protect these resources through development provisions and alternatives to the demolition of these resources.  The ordinance created the Historical Commission, a group of volunteer residents, to administer the terms of the ordinance.


The Historical Commission is scheduled to meet on the 2nd Wednesday of each month at 7:00 p.m., in the public meeting room at 43 S. Thornton Road.  These work session meetings are open to the public.  If interested in attending a meeting, contact the Historical Commission at CTHC1@outlook.com to confirm meeting time and location, and to gain entrance to the secured municipal building.
